WHEELCHAIRS FOR MAHALAPYE FROM GABORONE TIRELO ROTARY CLUB

Rotarians: President Rose Selema, PP Leif Bekker, Sikha Bekker and Sandra Stonehill from Gaborone Tirelo Rotary Club delivered 10 wheelchairs to the Community Centre at Mahalapye on Saturday 20 October.

Ms Gaeyo Mothei from Botswana Rail, who had helped set-up the handover, greeted us. Pastor Bagwasi delivered the Opening Prayer and Matron Ms E Phakedi (District Health Team) made the introductions. Mr Stephen Moreki from the District Health Team gave an overview. President Rose Selema (Gaborone Tirelo Rotary Club) gave a speech and assisted with the presentation of the wheelchairs.

We were entertained by one of the wheelchair recipients, Mr Motsamai Maremela. He played the guitar and sang his own composition " We came to the Community Centre today and Gaborone Tirelo Rotary Club brought us wheelchairs. We are all very happy!" We were provided with refreshments and then we were clapped and cheered as we left for our journey back to Gaborone. What a day! To quote President Rose Selema 'Job well done'.
